CURRENTLY LOVING: LOAFERS

metallic  /  jewel tone  /  color block  /  b+w  /  studded  /  striped  /  leopard  /  bold color  /  cap toe

On Monday, I wore my colorful loafers all day long. They are my favorite purchase recently. Comfy and cute? It's a win-win. Here are some other loafers I am currently craving at all different price ranges. I have to ask, which one is your favorite?

(I'll also be wearing my loafers with this jacket... don't forget to vote!)

SKIRTS AND SNEAKERS

Jacket: American Eagle  /  Tee: American Eagle  /  Skirt: Target  /  Bag: Emma Fox  /  Sneakers: American Eagle  /  Sunglasses: American Eagle  /  Lipstick: NARS "Dolce Vita"

When I first saw these shoes, I envisioned myself wearing them with mostly my boyfriend jeans and leather jackets (and mainly to a long day of classes). Then I remembered that I had this skirt, and it all fell into place. The girly skirt totally works with the boyish sneakers for an easy-to-wear look. A skirt and sneakers combo is the way to go. I have a feeling I will be wearing it a lot in the upcoming months.

GET A LOAF OF THIS

Shirt: J. Crew  /  Pants: American Eagle  /  Loafers: Dolce Vita  /  Bag: DKNY  /  Lipstick: Clinique "Heftiest Hibiscus"  /  Sunglasses: Madewell  /  Jewels: Stella & Dot + Michael Kors

And so my obsession with loafers begins! It's starting to feel like fall, and I couldn't be more excited to start wearing some appropriate fall shoes. Oxfords, booties, and loafers are on my list. Needless to say, I was happy to score these on sale. They will be a great addition to my casual class and errand wardrobe. (Also, if you love a good fall polka dot number, check this out.)

OH, THIS JACKET

Jacket: American Eagle (similar)  /  Shirt: American Eagle  /  Jeans: American Eagle  /  Wedges: Falchi  /  Bag: DKNY  /  Jewels: Madewell, Urban Outfitters, Kate Spade  /  Sunglasses: Madewell  /  Lipstick: Clinique "Heftiest Hibiscus"

My green army jacket is one of my favorite clothing pieces of all time. I wear it year round- layered to class, the movies, and even shopping. Whether I feel like dressing cool, chic, or girly, this jacket is always incorporated into my outfit somehow (also shown here + here). I find myself especially wearing it in the summer-fall transition month and was actually very excited to layer it with a baseball tee on a cooler summer day in Pittsburgh. Do you have an article of clothing that you just can't part with?

WEAR NOW, WEAR LATER

wear now, wear later

outfit 1: sunglasses  /  TANK  /  bag  /  shorts  /  sandals   //   outfit 2: necklace  /  TANK  /  skirt  /  sandals  /  clutch  /  bangles   //   outfit 3: scarf  /  TANK  /  cardigan  /  bag  /  jeans  /  flats

With fall collections and sales making their way into stores, I always feel like I should start shopping but immediately feel silly because the temperatures are still in the 80's. The key to shopping during these transition times is to find staple pieces that can be worn all year round. This H&M striped tank is the perfect thing. Layered with a cardigan and jeans, you have the perfect fall look without rushing to shop for fall items last minute. What are some of your favorite staple pieces?

OH MY

Shirt: Bobeau via Nordstrom  /  Jacket: c/o American Eagle  /  Jeans: c/o American Eagle  /  Heels: BCBGeneration  /  Bag: DKNY  /  Jewels: Urban Outfitters, AE, Kate Spade  /  Sunglasses: Dolce & Gabbana  /  Lipstick: NARS "Heat Wave"

It's no secret by now that I love fun, cheeky tees. I even dedicated a Pinterest board to them. I scored this tee at Nordstrom over the weekend and have been thinking of ways to wear it ever since. It will be a good transition piece to wear in the fall with layers. Speaking of fall, have you checked out the sale happening at Nordstrom right now? It really is an "oh my" amazing sale.

FAVORITE STYLE INSPIRATION

I gathered up some of my current favorite looks of the season... absolute swoon! I have my eye on a few fun pieces, and I found similar items that are a great substitute. Let me know which one is your favorite! I tried to pick out one myself, but I can't they are all too perfect.

OLDIE BUT GOODIE

Remember this post? When Modest Fashionista and I teamed up for "Heels with a Casual Look" week, I immediately thought of this outfit. The totally boyish shaped shirt and skinny jeans would look perfect with sneakers and a leather jacket, but heels gives it that extra feminine touch. Vote for this oldie but goodie look over at Modest Fashionista for this week's competition. Thank you everyone!

HOT SUMMER ITEMS

Hat: H&M  /  Top: Joe Fresh  /  Skirt: J. Crew (similar)  /  Watch: c/o AE /  Shoes: Sperry Topsider  /  Sunglasses: AE  /  Jacket: AE

Baseball games, bike rides, and long morning walks are all a part of my summer experience. A baseball hat is the perfect accessory for any summer festivity, and not to mention it shades your face from the burning sun. It looks cute with a skirt and striped shirt or a button up, cutoffs and heels. So this summer make sure to rock your baseball hat, after all it is the second hot summer item!

Check out my first hot summer item here.

STYLE INSPIRATION: WHITE SHIRTS

1.  /  2.  /  3.  /  4.  /  5.

I often find myself reaching for my simple white shirt because it is like starting with a plain canvas. You can style it anyway you like, whether your style is cool, feminine, bohemian, classic, or edgy. You can show your personality by how you rock your little white shirt. Check out how I wore mine here.... but I have to ask, how will you style yours?

SIMPLE STYLING

Shirt: Gap  /  Jeans: American Eagle  /  Heels: Asos  /  Purse: DKNY  /  Sunglasses: American Eagle  /  Necklaces: Lucky Brand & c/o American Eagle  /  Bracelets: Lucky Brand  /  Lipstick: Clinique "Heftiest Hibiscus"

This weekend was a simple one, and I loved it. Walks outside, breakfast at a bakery, and catching up on plenty of sleep was relaxing and peaceful. My outfit totally reflects my simple, laid back weekend. A white shirt, jeans, and a few bohemian touches was all I needed. No matter what day or time it is, I can never go wrong with a classic white button up. Sometimes, my white shirt is paired with a preppy sweater and skirt, but today it's paired with boho jewelry and fun heels. How are you rocking a simple white shirt this week?

I am all about the soft metallics for summer. Can you tell? Also, another week of outfit contests at Modest Fashionistas. I would love it if you could vote for me here. Thank you for reading everyone!

NAUTICAL NUMBER

Top: Madewell  / Skirt: Gap  /  Belt: H&M  /  Wedges: Target  /  Sunglasses: Madewell  /  Bag: DKNY  /  Jewels: c/o American Eagle & Kiel James Patrick  /  Lipstick: NARS "Heat Wave"

With the fourth just ending and summer in full swing, you can find me in fun nautical numbers most days of the week. When I found this anchor shirt at Madewell all alone in my size and on sale, I knew it had to come home with me. I wear it with everything, and I do mean everything. Mint green shorts, jeans and flats, or a striped skirt, you name it I wear it. Although it is no longer available online, I found some other great options here, here, and here.

HOT SUMMER ITEMS

Vest: c/o American Eagle (sold out online, available in stores)  /  Dress: unknown brand (similar style here)  /  Necklaces: Urban Outfitters & Macy's  /  Bracelets + Rings: American Eagle, Urban Outfitters, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Stella & Dot  /  Sunglasses: Madewell  /  Clutch: Marc Jacobs  /  Heels: Target  /  Lipstick: NARS "Funny Face"

As the temperatures continue to increase each day, my trusty denim jacket doesn't really work out that well. A great substitute is a denim vest. It's sleeveless, light-weight, and can transform any summer dress. (And how cute would it be over a bathing suit at the beach?) Denim vests are number one on my hot summer items list. I get a lot of questions regarding what to pack for summer vacations and weekend getaways, so each week I will be listing my favorite items that are perfect all summer long. Here are some other really cute denim vest options: 1.  /  2.  /  3.  /  4.  /  5.

HERE & THERE

{an amazing view in Pittsburgh}

This past week was definitely a crazy one. I was very busy with work and family activities, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I find myself happiest when I am busy and productive. Although I ended up getting sick (seriously, who gets a cold in July?), I had a blast. I hope everyone had a great fourth full of yummy food and nice weather. Here's to another week full of fun!

{yummy treats with family (purse & sunglasses)}

{summer blooms}

{a casual look for errands (shirt, sunglasses, watch) }

{currently into chunky jewelry over denim vests}

IN BLACK AND WHITE

Blazer: Urban Outfitters  /  Shirt: Gap  /  Shorts: American Eagle  /  Heels: Target  /  Clutch: J. Crew  /  Watch: Kate Spade  /  Sunglasses: Madewell  /  Lipstick: NARS "Funny Face"

Pairing a blazer with high waisted shorts is a great way to dress up your look during a hot summer night. This lightweight Urban Outfitters blazer looks perfect with jeans (last shown here) and dresses too. Black and white prints are always timeless, but here are some fun, colorful floral print blazers I am currently loving: 1.  /  2.  / 3. Also, don't forget you only have a few more days for the INPINK discount, use code SEALEDWS30.
