POPPY

Chambray: AE  /  Skirt: Gap  /  Wedges: Falchi  /  Bag: old, similar  /  Watch: Kate Spade  /  Lipstick: NARS "Heat Wave"  /  Shades: Madewell

Poppy colors combined with cheetah print always gives an outfit that extra cool factor. The best part of this combination? How easy it is to put together! Grab your chambray, favorite bold mini, and some cute cheetah print wedges and you are set. Check out these inspirational looks too! (here, here, here)

What are your plans this weekend? I hope to spend some time outside, get a little work done (email answering), and finally see the Great Gatsby! Here's to the weekend!

ON THE EDGE

Shirt: MNG by Mango  /  Vest: c/o AE (great options here)  /  Jewels: Urban Outfitters, c/o AE, Kate Spade  /  Jeans: AE  /  Shoes: unknown brand (old)  /  Shades: House of Harlow 1960  /  Bag: Emma Fox  / Nail Polish: Maybelline "Sapphire Siren"

I usually gravitate more towards feminine and soft pieces, since I am such a girly girl. But lately, I have been loving edgy black and white, graphic tees, and denim vests. Nothing says "edgy" like a good denim vest. At first I thought that maybe a denim vest is a little too tough for me, but I realized I can also wear it with dresses and skirts for that unexpected twist. Plus, not to mention that they are a perfect substitute for a denim jacket in the super warm months soon approaching. What about you, are you rocking a denim vest this summer?

If you are looking for some fun plans tomorrow night, stop by the Hard Hats and High Heels Fashion Show. It's for an amazing cause and will be a great way to experience unique fashion with lots of entertainment! Buy tickets HERE. Will I be seeing you there?

It's that time of year when vacations start and everyone is ready for some rest and relaxation. I am dreaming of palm trees and sunshine, are you? I put together some fun vacation wear perfect for that paradise spot. Hey sometimes that can be at your own pool using a good imagination ;) Where are you heading this summer; I'd love to hear!

ILLUSIONS

Shirt: Gap  /  Dress (worn as skirt): unknown brand (similar)  /  Heels: Zara  /  Jewels: c/o AE & here  /  Shades: House of Harlow 1960

I love maxi skirts. Ever since I saw this look, I knew I wanted to find a similar silhouette for the summer. I realized that I could achieve this look with a maxi dress and create a skirt, button-up illusion. The best part is that I didn't have to go out and buy a maxi skirt, and I really used my current closet items to the fullest. Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.

SEQUINS ON THE WEEKEND

Chambray: AE  /  Shirt: J. Crew (similar here & here)  /  Jacket: H&M  /  Jeans: AE  /  Heels: Target  /  Jewels: Kate Spade, c/o AE, Madewell, Urban Outfitters  /  Lipstick: NARS "Heat Wave"  /  Shades: Madewell  /  Bag: DKNY

This weekend the weather was very confusing. The sun was out and shining, but the temperatures were chilly. Not that I like cold weather at all, but I was glad to pull out this jacket one last time before the warm weather becomes more consistent. I wore this look to a meeting with a great friend and also my makeup and hair artist for #aeostylefile to discuss an amazing opportunity. I will be hosting the 2nd annual Hard Hats and High Heels Fashion Show this Friday for Habitat for Humanity. You can donate or purchase a ticket here. (There also may be a certain dance group that has a TV show performing too!)

Happy Memorial Day!

1.  /  2.  /  3.  /  4.  /  5.  /  6.  /  7.

Today must be the day for my favorite black and white pieces. Earlier, I posted a casual look wearing this chic color combo. I wanted to share with you all some more black and white items that are anything but boring.

ALL ABOUT BLACK AND WHITE

Shirt: Zara (tank version here)  /  Pants: American Eagle  /  Heels: Target  /  Clutch: J. Crew  /  Shades: Madewell  /  Jewels: Kate Spade, Madewell, Stella & Dot, Lucky Brand

Black and white is always such a classic color combination that can be worn for any occasion. I am currently loving and inspired by all the celebrities on the red carpet with this chic color combo. (my favorite look here) I decided to rock this style with a simple tee and black jeans for a cool and casual look.

SUMMER FAVORITES

Shirt: Talbots (old)  /  Skirt: c/o American Eagle  /  Necklace: Banana Republic  /  Shoes: Dolce Vita (love this option)  /  Shades: House of Harlow 1960  /  Lipstick: Clinique "Heftiest Hibiscus"  /  Jewels: Stella & Dot + c/o AE

I wore this look over the weekend when I wanted something to go perfectly with the warm, breezy weather happening in Pittsburgh. I immediately reached for this skirt- a soft and simple high-low. I wore it for an episode of #aeostylefile and was so excited to bring it home with me because it really can go with anything. Paired with a fun necklace or tied chambray, this skirt will be one of my summer favorites.

TRICKY TRENDS

Shirt: H&M  /  Pants: J. Crew  /  Shoes: Franco Sarto  /  Shades: House of Harlow 1960  /  Jewels: Kate Spade, Stella & Dot, Lucky Brand, Michael Kors

Neon is a hot trend right now; a few of my favorite inspirational looks are here, here, and here. But let's face it. Neon can be extremely tricky, especially with bright, neon pants. I often find that this trend can sometimes look cheap and overdone. To really tone the look down, add all neutral layers to your mix. Light peach nails, soft beach waves, and nude heels are the perfect additions to any neon item. I'd love to know how you incorporate neon into your looks!

Also, thank you all for baring with me as my site and Internet connection were both down, however I hope you like the new look for the blog. The next couple days will be filled with outfit posts so stay tuned!

less is more (sometimes)

Shirt: Gap  /  Jeans: American Eagle  /  Shoes: Falchi  /  Belt: American Eagle  /  Clutch: DKNY  /  Jewels: Urban Outfitters, AE, Stella & Dot, Michael Kors, Madewell  /  Shades: House of Harlow 1960  /  Lipstick: Clinique "Heftiest Hibiscus"  /  Nail Polish: Essie "Mango Bango"

Usually I never keep things very simple when it comes to my wardrobe, but over the weekend I was feeling a more neutral palette. I consider my cheetah print wedges to be on the neutral side; they really go with just about anything. For a little pop of color, I added my favorite Clinique lipstick and DKNY clutch. Sometimes it's nice to not really plan a look and keep it simple. Sometimes less really is more.

festival fun...

bikini  /  clutch  /  shirt  /  sandals  /  jeans  /  necklace  /  bracelet  /  scarf  /  belt  /  shades

Usually around this time of the year, I crave festival inspired pieces including tribal prints, fringe, and beading. These pieces are perfect for summer and to pack for a little getaway. Sometimes, you need pieces in your wardrobe with that free spirit, fun vibe. Have a great weekend everyone!

spring dress

Dress: Petticoat Alley (old)  /  Shirt: J. Crew  /  Shoes: Target  /  Lipstick: NARS "Funny Face"  /  Shades: Madewell  /  Jewels: Kate Spade & J. Crew  /  Clutch: J. Crew

A fun spring look today!

feelin' festive

Jacket: American Eagle  /  Shirt: Forever 21  /  Jeans: American Eagle  /  Heels: Zara  /  Bag: DKNY  / Jewels: c/o AE, Juicy Couture, Urban Outfitters  /  Lipstick: NARS "Heat Wave"  /  Shades: Madewell

After wearing a uniform in the colors of red and blue every single day in high school, I promised myself that when I graduated I would never wear that color combination again. I guess I lied. Who would have thought that red and blue could have such a festive vibe? The different shades of blue are a breath of fresh air compared to a solid color heel... and they are so comfortable! Yes, a true win-win.
