24/7 Fashionistas

The weather these last couple of days in Pittsburgh has not been that great (okay, more like awful downpours). I haven't been able to go out and document my looks much this week, and I am not liking it. But what I do like is to online shop and sip tea when it's raining (who doesn't love that?). So what am I shopping for when it's raining? Cute fall pieces of course! Take a look at my favs now!

Jewel Tones

Shirt: H&M  /  Sweater: H&M  /  Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters  /  Scarf: Coach  /  Purse: Steve Madden (cute studded one here)  /  Booties: Steve Madden (similar)  /  Jewelry: H&M, AE, Michael Kors, Natasha, Lucky Brand, T. J. Maxx, Madewell  /  Belt: American Eagle Outfitters

I wanted to brighten up a rainy day with some jewel tone colors. The rainy day blues went away right after I put this cozy yellow sweater on. Then for a little kick? The sweet studs on my handbag. (Yes, this purse is also my self defense weapon, just in case.)
Happy Thursday!

Pick Me Ups

Well guys, it's that time of year again. Cold season. And yes, I caught the bug. But sometimes being ill makes me appreciate the things around me, and here are a few things that are making me smile right now:

Sweet little owls and an incredible Vanilla candle

A feminine necklace with bows from J. Crew

My reading stack this week, and my favorite magazine with one of my personal fashion icons

Polka dot nail art from Kate Spade and a matching Ann Taylor bangle

A gorgeous fall mantel

Stud detail on a new dress I picked up at Juicy Couture (will be on the blog soon!)

Thanks for your incredible comments! You guys made my day yesterday!

Colors of Autumn

Sweater: J. Crew  /  Button-up: American Eagle Outfitters  /  Pants: H&M (similar style here + here)  /  Shoes: Nine West (other colors available)  /  Purse: Lucky Brand  /  Necklace: AE  /  Bracelets: Natasha, Lucky Brand (similar here), AE, Madewell  /  Rings: AE + H&M (similar)  /  Sunnies: House of Harlow 1960  /  Nail Polish: Sephora by O-P-I "Read My Palm"  /  Lipstick: NARS "Dolce Vita"

It was a chilly Sunday yesterday, so what did that mean? Layering! Mixing prints is kind of my thing, especially layering different fall prints together. Stripes, plaid, and pumpkins. What more could a girl want on a beautiful autumn day?

Have an awesome week!

Opposites Attract

Sweater: H&M (similar look here)  /  Button-Up: Forever 21 (similar)  /  Skirt: H&M (similar)  /  Shoes: Steve Madden (cute suede ones here)  /  Clutch: Banana Republic (similar here)  /  Necklace: unknown brand (found at Macy's)  /  Bracelets: J. Crew Factory, Stella & Dot, AE, Lucky Brand (similar here)  /  Rings: H&M (recent, similar here)  /  Sunnies: Ralph Lauren  /  Lipstick: NARS "Heat Wave"

I love the idea of mixing different styles together into one cohesive look. Today I was going for preppy and girly meets edgy rockstar. My classic pencil skirt, button-up, and sweater fit the preppy category, and the booties, necklace, and clutch are total rockstar material. The best part of mixing two styles together is the versatility of the look. Wear it anywhere and everywhere! Now that's my kind of outfit.

Happy Weekend One & All!

Cheetah Fashionista

Sweater: Aerie (similar here)  /  Pants: J. Crew  /  Shoes: Nine West  /  Purse: Emma Fox  /  Necklace: H&M  /  Bracelets: Lucky Brand, Stella & Dot, Jupe Boutique (similar here)  /  Rings: H&M (recent, similar here) + AE  /  Lipstick: NARS "Dolce Vita"

I'm recognizing a trend in my clothes recently. I keep reaching for animal prints, especially cheetah print. All the shades of browns and blacks make it perfect for fall. And recognize this sweater in a different color? I loved this one so much, I bought it in this rich everest green. Two times the cute right?

Happy Thursday!

Sweater: H&M (recent, similar look)  /  Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters  /  Shoes: Falchi  /  Purse: DKNY  /  Sunnies: south moon under  /  Belt: American Eagle Outfitters  /  Jewelry: Michael Kors, BCBG (love this), AE, T. J. Maxx  /  Lipstick: NARS "Heat Wave"

I wore this to class, errand running, and hanging with my mom! Which means two things...comfy and casual. This look is super simple, but has some really cool elements in it, like the red cat eye sunglasses and the cheetah print wedges. I am a huge fan of cheetah print and stripes together! Who's with me?

Happy Wednesday!

Fall Florals

Jacket: similar style (also here)  /  Top: Aerie (similar here)  /  Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters (available in stores)  /  Booties: Steve Madden (similar here)  /  Necklace: H&M (in stores)  /  Bracelets: J. Crew Factory + Natasha (cute here)  /  Ring: H&M

Floral print is not just for spring and summer! I am rocking these floral pants all fall long, and they look perfect for the season with suede booties and a light weight jacket. Neutrals and prints all the way!

Are you going to wear floral prints this autumn?

Top: H&M (recent, similar here)  /  Blazer: Levi's  /  Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters (bought three sizes up for a boyfriend fit look)  /  Shoes: Vince Camuto  /  Clutch: south moon under  /  Belt: H&M (similar here)  /  Necklace: H&M (similar)  /  Bracelets: Kensie, American Eagle Outfitters (similar here), J. Crew, Stella & Dot, BCBG (similar style here)  /  Rings: H&M + American Eagle Outfitters (love these)  /  Sunnies: House of Harlow 1960  /  Nail Polish: unknown brand (similar)

Yep, this shirt is really that bright, and I adore it! I wore this on one of the most gorgeous days this weekend, and the neon orange went perfectly with the sunny day. If you don't want to wear too much neon, try incorporating it into a smaller clutch or jewelry for an edgy look.

I hope your weekend was full of fun and great weather!

Crew Factory, Kensie /  Ring: H&M  /  Sunnies: House of Harlow 1960

Bringing back my uniform days with a pleated skirt and blazer. And I thought I would never wear a uniform ever again! Well, I guess if it's a fashionable one it works for me.

Three cheers for the weekend!

Quirky + Cool

Throughout the next few weeks, I want to show you a few of my favorite fall trends and why I love them! First on my list? Without a doubt, quirky (and almost silly) sweaters. They keep you warm, and keep a smile on your face! Sounds like a winner to me! I'm pretty sure I will be adding all of these adorable ones to my collection of sweaters (just like this one)!

Sweater Love

Sweater: J. Crew (similar styles here + here)  /  Shirt: H&M (cute green button-up here)  /  Skirt: J. Crew (similar style)  /  Shoes: BCBGeneration (similar here + here)  /  Purse: DKNY  Necklace: J. Crew Factory  /  Bracelets: Michael Kors + J. Crew Factory  /  Rings: American Eagle Outfitters  /  Sunnies: House of Harlow 1960  /  Lipstick: NARS "Heat Wave"

It's a preppy look for me today! I love fall because I finally have an excuse to wear warmer sweaters and button-ups layered together! And who doesn't love a sweater that makes them smile? For a more casual look, pair this sweater and button-up combo with some boyfriend jeans and oxfords. How do you like to wear your fall sweaters?

Let me know, I love new ideas!

High Bun How-To

Fashionistas, I have a fun how-to hairstyle for you today! Hello high favorite up-do! I have been rocking this look a lot lately, and I wanted to share with you my secret to the perfect bun. Gather your hair brush and comb, an old sock (that matches the color of your hair), scissors, hair ties, and bobby pins.

Next, put your hair in a high ponytail (or place it wherever you want the bun to lay). Then take your sock and cut the toe side off.

Now, you have a sock that is open on both sides. Roll the sock up so that you have a doughnut shape when finished. You can make it as thick or thin as you want depending on how big you want the bun to be. Then, put your ponytail through the hole of the sock, and start to wrap your hair around and pin with poppy pins (any size pin will do).

Continue wrapping your hair around until you can no longer see the sock. Make sure to check all angles (you don't want a stranger to come up to you and ask why you have a sock in your hair)! Spray your hair to assure the bun will stay put. I like to use Pantene hair products with an extra hold.

Ta-da! The final product! You may have recognized this look here + here on the blog!

Hope your week started off great!

Also, we remember those who died 11 years ago on this day, you will forever be remembered in our hearts!
