The perfect mash up... a dressy sequins top with informal boyfriend jeans. I love to pair unexpected things together to create a laid back, yet polished look. This outfit is perfect for a shopping day, sitting in a long class {boyfriend jeans are so comfy!}, or a date night. Try pairing two unexpected items together today to switch things up! Email me a picture of your mash up outfit, and you may just see yourself on the blog! Also, a big Hooray for the weekend, have a great one!

We all need a little sunshine in our lives right? Try incorporating it into your clothing! Hope you are all having a fabulous week. Mine has been super busy with meetings, errands, and photo shoots {more details soon}!

Vaca All the Way

Top: American Eagle {similar here}   Skirt: J. Crew   Shoes: Unknown brand {similar ankle-strap sandal here}   Hat: American Eagle {similar here}   Tote: Juicy Couture {loving this tote}   Necklace: Lucky Brand   Bracelets: Kiel James Patrick {here + here} and Lucky Brand   Sunnies: Kenneth Cole {similar here}

Who is ready for vacation? I know I am! It's always hard to decide what to pack for vacation and especially hard to choose what to wear on the way there {whether it is on a plane or in the car}. I am headed to the beach this summer, so lounging in the car and watching movies is what I'll be doing. I don't know about you guys, but when we make a stop I always feel like I look awful, and my hair is everywhere! Problem solved...pack a cute fedora and some cat eye sunnies! A big tote can hold all your necessities, and a cotton skirt is both comfy and stylish. What will you be packing for your vacation? Let me know!

Kimono Inspired

Top: H&M {similar here}   Jeans: American Eagle   Shoes: Asos {great price!}   Bracelets: Lucky Brand and Unknown Brand {gifted}   Ring: Lucky Brand   Lipstick: Revlon "Stormy Pink"   Sunnies: Unknown Brand {similar here}

This shirt was so pretty; I could not pass it up when I was shopping! It is such a statement that I put minimal accessories on today. I love the Asian inspired look to this piece, and it is so on trend right now! This top also looks great with colored skinny jeans {my sister rocked this look, yes we share a lot of clothes}! I hope everyone is having a good balance of fun and work this week.
Also, a special thanks to my readers out there, your comments are completely amazing and I read every single one! XO

Top: Anthropologie   Skirt: J. Crew {similar here}   Shoes: Macy's {unknown brand and cute here}   Clutch: Ann Taylor   Bracelets: J. Crew, AE, H&M, JCPenney's

There is something super special about a classic pencil skirt. It can shape a women's body in all the right places. The trick to pencil skirts is to pair them with a flowy top {in my case one with ruffles} and to make sure they are the right size and length. You should always be able to move in them without having to constantly tug and pull them down. J. Crew has some fabulous pencil skirts in great colors and prints here, here, and here! Get shopping ladies!
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Happy Monday!

Top: Banana Republic {cute one here}   Shorts: American Eagle {similar and way cute here}   Shoes: Asos   Bag: Coach   Scarf: Unknown Brand   Belt: American Eagle   Necklaces: Banana Republic {similar here} and Lucky Brand   Bracelets: AE, Lucky Brand, Vince Camuto {similar here}, Brighton   Ring: H&M   Sunnies: Kenneth Cole {similar here}

The temperature here in Pittsburgh has been 90 degrees almost everyday, so that calls for a tank and some shorts {that look like a skirt}. In honor of yesterday's color block post, I decided to put not one or two colors together, but four. The more colors together the better! Have a wonderful and safe weekend everyone! XO

Inspired by Color

I love the color block trend for summer! It is so refreshing and brightens up any day. There once was a time {in my preteen years} when I would only wear neutral colors and a lot of dark shades. I am so glad I got over that phase because all fashionistas know that wearing color is so much more fun! Here are some amazing photographs I found on Pinterest that inspire me to wear the color block trend all summer long.

A classic pastel number

Pretty color block accessories

Even incorporate this trend at the pool

I love this green jacket

Color block from your head to toe

This dress is such a statement

Fruit by the Foot

Top: American Eagle {similar here}   Shorts: Forever 21 {similar here}   Shoes: Urban Outfitters   Purse: Michael Kors via TJ Maxx   Belt: American Eagle   Necklace: J. Crew   Bracelets: AE, INPINK, Vince Camuto {similar here}, BCBG   Ring: Betsey Johnson {cute one here}   Sunnies: H&M {recent}

I think I found a new favorite piece in my wardrobe. These flats with bright fruit on them are just too cute for summer! Of course I had to name the post title "Fruit by the Foot" because it reminded me of my favorite candy when I was a little girl. {I lived for the fruit by the foot candy at lunch time in grade school.} I picked these beauties up at Urban Outfitters on my shopping day in Pittsburgh. I highly recommend them, and all the colors on them can go with anything! Also, check out the cute flamingo ones at Urban Outfitters here. Happy Wednesday!

PS... A very Happy Birthday to my cute little brother Grant! Have a great day buddy!

Polka Dot Party

Top: Tommy Hilfiger {similar here}   Pants: American Eagle   Shoes: H&M {recent}   Belt: Target   Purse: Juicy Couture   Bracelets: Lucky Brand, Vince Camuto, BCBG, Kiel James Patrick   Sunnies: Kenneth Cole {similar here}

It's a polka dot party in the city today, and it's all about incorporating accessories into every outfit you wear. Even though this look has a lot going on with the polka dots, bright colors, bows, and stripes, they all fall into the same color scheme and work together to create a cohesive look. One of my favorite color combinations on repeat for this summer is red, yellow, and blue. Additionally, another big thank you to Nancy for also taking these pictures in the city! {email her at} Happy Tuesday! XO

Stripes in the City

Top: American Eagle {similar here}   Skirt: J. Crew   Shoes: Dolce Vita {also available here}   Clutch: Nine West   Necklace: Target   Bracelets: Brighton, Kensie {available at Macy's}, J. Crew, H&M {recent and similar here}   Ring: Lucky Brand   Sunnies: Kenneth Cole {similar here}

Everyone has a few favorite pieces in their wardrobe. Some of my favorite pieces are chambray shirts, striped skirts {also shown here}, and yellow accessories. I paired my favorite chambray shirt with this striped skirt to dress down the outfit for a more day-to-day look. You all know I love yellow, and the accents made the outfit brighter. Pittsburgh weather is so gorgeous right now; I wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous view. A big thanks to my friend Nancy who took these pictures! She is awesome, and I highly recommend her if you are looking for a photographer!

PS…Another big thank you to my dad on Father’s Day! He is amazing, and I am so grateful to have someone like him in my life. Love you dad!
